Backseatz is a trading name of Car & Transport Verde Ltd., a limited company registered in England and Wales (Number: 10088086), with registered address Dalton House, 60 Windsor avenue, London SW19 2RR and governed by English law under the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

Backseatz service is as an intermediary agent to arrange an entitlement to carriage/travel for a User over a transportation service provider (“TSP”), and not in the provision of the travel service itself.

These terms & conditions (hereinafter “Terms”), together with our privacy policy & security policy, regulate the contractual relationship between you (the User/Customer/service recipient), Backseatz acting of behalf of the TSP as agent for arranging a travel services, and the TSP as supplier of the service.

Backseatz is not responsible for, and shall have no liability in respect of, any acts or omissions of the Transport Service Provider including, without limitation, any failure or delay in the supply Services or otherwise affecting the Journey which is caused by the TSP.

As agent, Backseatz is responsible for:

  • 1) The selection of suppliers/TSP

  • 2) Communicating booking information to the TSP

  • 3) Issue of the confirmation and communication information of the supplier/TSP fulfilling the service (which we will do no later than 24 hours before the booked Pickup time)

  • 4) Managing payment and cancellation refunds

  • 5) Customer service analysis to improve services

The general terms and conditions cover all transport requests booked on backseatz.com, our mobile applications, and approved third-party distributors. The general terms and conditions can change from time to time, so it is of your own interest to have a look at it each time you are booking and contact us before booking if you are unsure of anything.

When we offer you Services, we are inviting you to make an offer (to purchase) the Services from the TSP. When clicking “Book now” on the payment confirmation page, you agree to make the Offer and we will communicate receipt of this with a “Booking request” email/message/app update.

The transportation service arrangement agreement between Backseatz and the User only comes into effect once a separate statement/email ("Booking Confirmation") is received from Backseatz. The TSP then has an obligation to provide the transportation service and has responsibility in case of further claims.

The following contracts are formed once the payment is accepted and we have communicated the booking confirmation to you via email/app/phone:

  • 1) A contract with Backseatz for the placement of the order and for the payment;

  • 2) A contract with the TSP/supplier who is liable for providing the transport (and all issues that arise with it).

Backseatz endeavours to offer only transportation services for which the Supplier has confirmed availabity, however in some circumstances this may not be the case and we will clearly indicate this during the booking process and inform you of the decision of the supplier (acceptance or refusal) within a timeframe communicated during the booking process.

Your purchase of the Services and the provision of the Services is subject to the corresponding laws of the country and/or state in which the Journey takes place.

The person placing the booking must be 18 years or older due to the payment conditions, however unaccompanied minors between the ages of 16 and 18 will be accepted in certain destinations. Please see individual country conditions for passengers younger than 16.

Backseatz is entitled to refuse any booking on behalf of the TSP, in which case we will advise you at the earliest feasible time and at least 24 hours before the transportation service is due to commence. We will try telephone and email and alternatives if available – please ensure your details are correct.

Transportation service (your booking) definitions:

Booking: means the booking of a transportation service with Backseatz.

Pick-up location: means the starting location where Passengers will meet the Driver or Greeter, this is the place where the transportation service will commence.

Drop off location: means where the transportation service will end, the place where you will travel to.

Pick Up Time: the local time (not necessarily where you are booking from) where the pick up and transportation service will commence by meeting the Driver or Greeter.

(Expected) Drop off time: means the local time, that we expect the transportation solution/journey to be completed. This will be an approximatively only and vary according to travel conditions. Passengers should ensure that any continued transport/journey is booked with adequate time in order that delays would not cause the continued transport to be missed.

Flight number: means the flight number of the flight you will be arriving/departing on if an airport. This will help in scheduling the transportation service and any rescheduling necessary due to flight delays/etc.

Driver(s): the person or people assigned by the TSP to drive the vehicle that will be used for your journey.

Vehicle: means an example of the vehicle actual vehicle may be similar) that will be assigned by the TSP and used for your journey.

Services: means the arrangement and supply of vehicle and driver transportation services for your journey.

Transport Service Provider: means the supplier of the Vehicle and/or Driver for a Booking.

Journey: means the travel between the Pickup and Drop off locations as specified in the Booking, any additional and/or amended travel services agreed between the Passengers and/or TSP are part of the Journey.

Passengers: means the person(s) using the transportation service, which may include the person booking the transportation service.

Cancellation option: means you pay an additional amount in order to have the ability to cancel the booking without penalty and with full refund, until 24 hours before the transportation service is due to commence and from which point onwards no refund shall be provided.

Forced Cancellation: Backseatz may under any circumstances including but not limited to insolvency of a TSP cancel the Booking upon limited or immediate notice. We will use reasonable endeavours supply of an alternative vehicle, but at periods of high demand it may not be possible. We will refund you the Booking fee in such circumstances.

Price and payment:

Backseatz reserves the rights to alter or remove any of our advertised or confirmed prices.

Prices will include all local taxes at the time of booking. Tolls, congestion charges, taxes, gratuity charges, outstation/overnight charges, and credit card fees will be highlighted during the reservations process using the best of our ability.

All inclusive (transfer) prices will include all local taxes, tolls, congestion charges, taxes, gratuity charges (which may be increased) but not necessarily credit card fees.

Customer must always their own credit cards or credit cards they are entitled to use and ensure that it can be charged with the amount necessary for the transportation service.

The client may be charged with any costs arising from payment problems caused by the payment method you have provided.

Backseatz is not liable for direct agreements between the client and the supplier and will neither be monitoring those agreements or changes nor able to assist. Additional fees, tolls, congestion charges, taxes and gratuity charges arising due to changes to the Journey agreed between you and the Driver/TSP must be paid by You or the Passenger. The Driver/TSP reserves the right to decline any requests to amend the Journey. Neither Backseatz nor the Driver/TSP shall have any liability in case such requests are declined.

We will pre-authorise (temporarily block the amount of your Booking, but not take funds from your account) when we receive your Booking; and only take payment for the Booking once we have confirmed your Booking with the TSP.

When booking you will be asked to confirm acceptance of the Terms and Conditions (“Terms). The Terms must be accepted if you wish to use the Service, and you should read the Terms which may contain important exclusions and limitations of liability. If you do not agree with any Terms you must not proceed with the Booking.

Your obligations, and to ensure you have a smooth journey:

You must ensure all details are checked and are completed in full and accurate. Include air/train/cruise details if applicable.

You should ensure you have sufficient time for any continuing travel plans, taking into consideration the possibility of delays (through traffic weather, local events, etc).

You/passengers should be at the Pickup location at the Pickup time and should make yourself known to the Driver/TSP.

You should provide accurate and working contacts (that work in your place of booking but also in the Pickup location) that are switched on and with you at the Pickup time and/or waiting time so that we may contact you if necessary regarding your booking.

Passengers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

You must inform us during the booking process of any children/infant passengers and information about them so that the TSP may provide necessary legal or requested equipment. In certain countries baby/child/infant/booster seats are required by law and without being previously informed the TSP may be unable to transport you, in such case where you have not provided the necessary information at time of Booking you will not be refunded.

All Passengers must be fit to travel and not intoxicated, underage or acting in any way that would cause the Driver to be acting illegally in transporting you. We will not be liable in such circumstances and you will not be refunded.

You should carefully consider the number of passengers and their physical conditions (infirm, any disabilities, infants, large people) in addition to the volume of luggage space required to ensure the Vehicle category you select meets your needs.

You are responsible to ensure you and other Passengers follow Terms where and You shall be liable for all acts and omissions of the Passengers.

The pickup:

You should have your phone on and able to receive calls/SMS for the scheduled booked pickup and waiting period.

If the Pickup location could be difficult to find, you should ensure precise information is provided at time of Booking so that the Driver/TNS may find you.

The Driver/Vehicle will wait for 45 minutes in an airport, in case of flight delays and we have the flight details the Driver/Vehicle will wait 45 minutes after the delayed arrival. For no airport pickups the wait period will be 30 minutes.

You should contact the Driver/TSP in case you will not be requiring the transportation or if you do not see or cannot find the Driver/TSP at the scheduled Pickup location and time.

Neither Backseatz nor the driver/TSP are responsible if the service cannot be provided due to incorrect information provided by you.

If You and the passengers are not present at the Booked Location during the Pickup time and waiting period, or if You provide incorrect details in the Booking resulting in a missed Pickup, or if you request changes that the Driver/TSP is unwilling to undertake then the Booking will not be refunded and neither Backseatz nor the Driver/TSP will be responsible or have liability resulting from the transportation service not happening.


To change a Booking you will need to Cancel and then make another Booking.

If you have Booked and paid for cancellation you may cancel the booking without penalty and with full refund, until 24 hours before the transportation service is due to commence after which point no refund shall be provided.


If Backseatz does not meet its obligations under the Terms, we may be responsible for loss or damage You suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure or our negligence but this liability shall be limited to the cost of the Booking. Backseatz is not responsible if the loss or damage is not foreseeable.

Neither Backseatz nor the Driver/TSP will be responsible for any other loss or damage suffered by You or the Passengers.

Unless clearly stated in the Terms, no representation, warranties or undertakings are given or implied in relation to the Services offered. In particular, the responsibility for ensuring that the Services Booked are suitable for your purposes remains your sole responsibility.

Force majeure events:

A 'Force Majeure Event' means any event which is unforeseen or otherwise beyond the reasonable control of the party in question including but not limited to strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes, failure of a utility service or a transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, fire, flood, storm, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports or ferry ports or other locations, cancellation or diversion of scheduled flights, or other journeys, or financial failure of airlines or other transport providers or any act or omission of any party (other than the party in question).

Neither Backseatz nor the Driver/TSP shall have any liability for or in respect of any failure to perform or any delay in performing any of our respective obligations under or pursuant to a Booking, a Journey or these Terms, if and in so far as performance is delayed, hindered or prevented by a Force Majeure Event.

In the event that a Force Majeure Event persists within 4 (four) working days of the Pickup Time we may terminate and withdraw the Booking by giving You not less than 24 (twenty four) hours' notice, and refunding all amounts paid by You to us in respect of the Booking prior to the Force Majeure Event.

In the case of Vehicle breakdown or mechanical difficulties it is the responsibility of the Driver/TSP to make all necessary arrangements to ensure that the Journey can be completed as soon as reasonably possible, providing it is safe and feasible to do so.


Website Conditions of Use

It is prohibited for anyone to use any device or software program to directly or indirectly interface, or attempt to interface, with this website to retrieve content and/or any other data, including prices. It is also prohibited to interfere, or attempt to interfere, with the normal working of this website; any activity that we consider places undue load or stress on our systems will be terminated. We constantly monitor everyone accessing our website, and the activities of any automated systems or persons conducting an unreasonable amount of searches, with the aim of accessing information and/or prices, will be terminated and those systems/persons blocked from our websites. Your use of the website indicates your agreement to be bound by these Conditions of Use.

Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. By using this site you accept the terms of the privacy policy and consent to (i) use of your personal information by Backseatz and its service providers to provide our services to you and (ii) use by Backseatz to you send promotional emails, quote chase and special offer emails.


Nothing in the Terms entitles any Third Party other than the TSP to benefits or rights arising from Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

The Terms are fully governed by the laws of England, and all parties shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
